Sony Xperia Z1 Compact Review
The Xperia Z1 has got 5 inch of display which brings the device into the Phablet category but Sony Xperia Z1 Compact has got 4.3 inch display and it got most of the features of the main flagship smartphone.
The build quality is pretty good and the overall design of the Xperia Z1 Compact is still the same. You won’t find any major difference in the main and this mini version apart from the display size.
Sony has launched it in four different color options which are black, white, pink and yellow. All colors are looking great and I personally liked the white and black one. Yellow color option was also attracting me though.
The device is also dust proof and water resistant up to 1 meter for about 30 minutes. This is going to be the main attractive feature of the device.
Till now all the smartphones manufactured by Sony were not having better display quality but Sony has shown its technology and hard work in the Xperia Z1 Compact. The display quality is best in the Xperia Z1 Compact till now and you’re not going to find any lag in it.
The device looks awesome in different viewing angles and the display also make sure that the content is visible under sunlight. Sony has used its Triluminos and X-Reality engines in it to provide this quality.
The display size is as mentioned 4.3 inch which offers highest resolution of 720×1280 pixels i.e. HD resolution. The display also supports multi touch and is protected from scratches and shatter.
With Snapdragon 800 chipset device is a power booster. It got quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz along with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The internal storage is 16GB while the storage can be expended using microSD card of maximum 64GB size.
The same CPU was there in the parent Z1 and so the Xperia Z1 Compact is really a power booster. You won’t find any performance or graphics lag in the device even while playing high quality games.
The device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and its going to receive the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat update as well. The software has got no changes and it’s still undeveloped, Sony definitely needs to worry about its skin pack now, it’s high time!
The rear camera is still the same 20.7MP camera with Sony’s G lens along with features like touch focus, face detection, smile detection, image and video stabilization and panorama. The front camera has got 2MP lens and both the cameras offer better picture and video quality. Camera is again the plus thing in this phone.
Xperia Z1 Compact supports up to LTE (latest standard of cellular data) along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and microUSB port. There is also a port for TV-out in the device.
